Maggie Peterson, LMSW

I am a licensed social worker (Master’s Degree University of Missouri Kansas City). My journey started 10 years ago as a social worker in the child welfare system and then transitioned to the public school setting. I enjoy helping teenagers who are experiencing anxiety. My true passion is walking alongside women in their infertility and postpartum journeys. With all clients, I focus on creating non-judgemental, safe therapeutic relationships, and validating emotions/experiences.

Throughout my practice, I incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). These are areas of interest for me and I have completed additional training on these methods. For all clients I start with utilizing a person centered, strengths based approach. I believe in finding simple solutions to solving problems of all sizes and giving clients the space to express themselves however they need. My role is to help you recognize your strengths and help you learn about and explore different tools that you can use in your everyday life.

“When I am not working, I enjoy hanging out with my family, obsessively reading, and learning something new.”
